Window.

While the big melt is on and the snow squalls subsided, we made a quick trip to Parry Sound.

You know when you're in a small rural town when you see roadside signs like this one….

It was raining heavily and the melting snow was creating a mist which made for some picturesque ponds and steams.

The train tracks were busy today hauling freight. This one was heading from the west.

On our trip back we had to make a stop in Port.
The locks are close for the season, although there was a boat tied up at the locks.

Sure is quiet and deserted there right now.

However across the street, it was busy with machines digging at the rock.

And there is a new building being constructed. I think they are going to be condo's.

On our way home we stopped to see another little scenic pond, misty from the melting snow.

Hawkeye Lucy sitting in the back seat noticed a beaver. We didn't see it at all but she sure did and let it know (in my ear) it could be seen.  All we saw was it's handiwork.

Speaking of handiwork, here's a truck load of hand hewn bears heading off to decorate some home or business.

Our window to travel is over. When we got back home to check the weather radar and MooseFM news, this is what's we're in for…...

  1. Look at those bears! Amazing.
Sounds like you need to be nestled inside next to your knitting basket.
