5 a.m.

Early morning is the best time of day for me. The owls are still hooting and the robins are just waking up. This morning there was a haunting call of a loon echoing across the lake.

There was a heavy frost on the ground and the icy crust crunched beneath my feet when I went outside to get this photo of a finger nail shape moon rising.

Lucy wanted to go out with me.  In the still, quiet and pure serenity of the morning she spotted something down by the shore and started barking.
Loudly.
I guess we're not too popular right now.

  1. Hey Deb! Been scouring through all your posts playing catch-up and am dazzled, as usual, by your beautiful photography. Having an uncle on the Titanic when it went down? Very sad but extremely cool for you guys. So great having a connection to such an infamous story. Hope you and Dad and the gang are doing well!
