A Dugout of Jays

A bear ripped through our neighbourhood Tuesday night.

Literally.

It ripped the tops off metal bear-proof bins and completely ripped apart the wood ones leaving a trail of garbage much to the delight of the neighbourhood raccoons.

So we took all of our feeders indoors last night fearing potential bird feeder destruction.  In doing so, I managed to spill quite a bit of seed on the ground much to the delight of the local Blue Jays.

What do you call a flock of Blue Jays?
A Dugout of Jays? An Outfield of Jays? A Glove of Jays?

There were 14 that I counted this morning and there were probably more that I didn't tally.

The Ralph's showed up for seed too.

And of course so did the Squirrels.

Bears in the 'hood, taking in feeders, counting Jays .... life is just too exciting around here.  I can barely keep up!
