Trip to The Sound

Yesterday we went to Parry Sound in the afternoon.  It was a hot but beautiful sunny summer day.

Here's the view looking across Georgian Bay.

Here's the old train station.

High on a hill overlooking Georgian Bay is a museum and this old building which was originally a fire ranger cabin. A fire tower was also located here but became obsolete, unsafe and therefore was torn down.

This lookout tower was constructed to replace the old fire tower as a tourist attraction. We didn't climb it because we had Lucy with us.

Beside the museum was this old log sleigh.

It was really too hot to spend much time outdoors and knowing there was a lake right out front of our cottage, we were eager to get back home.

  1. I wondered if it was hot when I saw these pics...it is just miserable here. Still, I would love to go to this place in the fall.
