This weekend we got started on Christmas Baking.
Inside, PetBoy and I were busy cooking up a storm.
Looking out the kitchen window, we could see Momma Doe and her young buck watching us.
We got most of baking done and packaged for our family and friends.
Sugar cookies, Fruit and Nut cookies, Candied Ginger cookies, Earl Grey thumbprint cookies, Santa's Whiskers, Butterscotch squares, Apricot squares and Lemon Poppy Seed cookies. We even made some sugar cookies on a stick.
Looking out the window in the afternoon, 3 Toms came to see what was happening at our place.
This weekend I also got my bark canoe Christmas table center piece assembled.
Meanwhile, Momma Doe and junior buck came back in the late afternoon to see our progress.
And that gave us an idea.
Make two birch log deer.
They need antlers and ears and when they're completed we'll put them with the other birch log deer we made earlier in the fall.
The forecast is for 5-10cm of snow from tonight and through to Monday night. Right now the falling snow looks like granulated sugar. It looks so pretty on the trees.
It's not too cold out, just hovering around freezing.
Really like all these shot...those turkeys look huge. I like your 'deer.'
