The lawn is cut, guest beds made up the fridge is full of food and Mr. Drink Up's "tinkle trunk" is full because Uncle Monkle, our national treasure, is one of the guests.
Outside, I've decorated the window boxes with flags,
and put flags in all of the flower pots too.
David bought new flags for the Treehouse and Boathouse.
I've got my annual read ready to go....
Chapter III
The theme this year is to bring a Canadian artifact.
It could be a coffee cup from Tim's,
or something related to hockey.
Maybe an antique postcard of a Mountie,
or a Hudson's Bay blanket.
Perhaps the stamp of the bluenose,
or art from Charles Pachter.
Well, I guess that's not exactly an artifact.
or a carving from Robert Davidson.
But that's hanging on the wall in the Museum of Civilization in Ottawa, so I don't think anyone will be bringing that!

Back to Charles Pachter, I just love his art.
Okay, I got off topic.
Artifact. I need to find an artifact.
....off to dig through a box of personal treasures.......
Happy Canada Day...will be catching up. Maybe not all at once but eventually.
ReplyDeleteI did see that you have been sewing again...just didn't leave a comment cause I had not started blogging...and Lorelei is here now so will probably be missing a couple days again...but will eventually get back in the routine.
Sounds like a lot of fun! Your Basil Searching Day sounded wonderful, too. You live in paradise!
