Sky lights.

Late last night, we sat out on the boathouse roof deck hoping to see the Northern Lights.
Apparently there was great show Tuesday night but we missed it, engrossed in a movie.  So last night we followed the Aurora forecast (click here), unfortunately we saw nothing.

This morning just before the sunrise, the moon was rising over the Point.
It looks like a fingernail hanging in the morning sky.  There's a tiny dot of moon reflection in the lake.

While I was taking this photo Ralph and Muriel, our neighbourhood Mallards, arrived to bask in the moon reflection.  Or maybe they were hoping I'd accidentally drop some cracked corn into the lake. Not sure which.

The far end of the bay was quiet and still.
Last night when we were outside we noticed quite a few lights from down that way that aren't usually on when all the cottagers have gone.

This sure has been a fabulous week weather-wise. The days have been sunny and warm as well as the nights too. However this will be short lived as cooler days are arriving.

  1. That first shot is just too perfect for words!

I would love to see the Northern Lights on a regular basis...but have only seen them one time. And believe it or not, that was here in Indiana just a few years ago.
