-28 oC

It was beyond frost on the pumpkin this morning.   The wind chill, according to the WeatherNetwork, was -33 oC  or -29.2 oF if you haven't converted.  Either way, that brass monkey is in deep trouble.

All of the lake is frozen over now.  It did that on Sunday. This must be a record for the lake to freeze so early in the season, although technically, it's still autumn.

Soon, there will be snowmobiles racing across the lake.  A snowmobile trail is open in Parry Sound and local trails ought to be open very soon given the amount of snow.

For some reason, we're getting huge icicles hanging from the eavestrough at one end of the cottage.

I think they would make good stir sticks in a martini or other fancy drink.

Since the satellite dish has been buried since Wednesday, we've run out of new DVD's to watch on TV. So we got out the roof rake, pulled some of the snow off the roof and cleared off the dish. David nearly fell off the ladder because it was so icy.

On Friday, it's supposed to warm up to a balmy +2 oC and rain. Saturday, (the fist day of winter) it's going back to a deep freeze again. Crazy weather.

  1. Oh, my! Beautiful...don't like the sounds of almost falling, though. It is supposed to be 52ºF here Friday...which is fine with me. Lorelei is scheduled to have her tonsils out then.
