Trip to Parry Sound

We should have been raking leaves today because it was warm and sunny but decided to head up to Parry Sound instead.

The road there is mostly cut through the Canadian Shield so the highway is flanked by towering rock cuts.

It was a pretty drive despite the lack of greenery.

Arriving in to town, the first thing to greet people is this mural. It's rather charming in a cheesy sort of way.

We saw The Canadian rolling through town on it's way to Toronto from out West.

According to the news, there is still ice on Georgian Bay. I couldn't see any so it must be way out.

It sure is a nice view looking across the bay.

The Coast Guard is also located there and they have a huge buoy marking their entrance.

We went to Parry Sound so David could pick up some bottles of a particular wine we had the other night that we both enjoyed.  Perez Cruz limited edition 2012 Carmenere.

But in his haste he picked up bottles of the Cabernet instead of the Carmenere. Do'h!
Guess we're going back to Parry Sound.
