Easter countdown.

It was a beautiful day here today.  The sky was blue and there were lots of diamonds on the water.

Lucy's nose is starting to get black now that the days are longer and she can sit in the sun for extended periods of time.  Except, the way she sits on the deck, only half of her nose is browning up.

I found this nice display of tulips, hyacinths, and violets at the Country Store in Orillia yesterday.
I also bought 2 flats of pansies that I'll put in the window boxes tomorrow.

Today, Sarah Mike and the kids came up.  So we spent the morning getting ready for their arrival and the rest of the day, having fun with them!

When I was a little girl, my best friends mom used to make these amazing Easter Bunny cakes.
(Do you remember them Kathy?)
So I just had to make one today with Caitlin.

We put on our aprons and spent the afternoon baking.

Maybe the bunny looks a little deranged, but it was all about the journey.

And speaking of deranged, Adam didn't mind one bit wearing his sister's bunny ears and jumping like a crazy-man in his jolly jumper.

It was a busy day today.  Day 1 for the Easter countdown!

(P.S.  Gas prices today in town was 127.7)

  1. I remember those cakes! But I never had the pleasure of making one with my grandmother.
The kids and the cake are adorable and I envy you this precious time together. And the cake. I would do anything for cake right about now.
