With the forest being so dry and succulent plant material is just about all gone, I tossed her some carrots and chopped apples.
She gobbled them up just as quickly as they landed on the ground.
Behind some rocks I heard a sound that was similar to the sound a lamb makes and then this little fawn appeared.
A little further in the woods I heard another little lamb-like and this second little fawn appeared. This little one was more wary and cautious than the other one.
This shot of the two is out of focus as I attempted to use the zoom lens.
Running out of carrots and apples I went back inside to get more food and encouraged David to come out with me plus bring his camera.
His camera is much better than mine and got this shot.
Momma and one of her twins.
The fawns were feeding on their own although this little one really wanted to nurse from mom. Mom on the other hand was discouraging that behaviour.
Here's the whole herd including a little bit of the buck who was camera shy.
It sure was a nice time sitting in the quiet of the forest watching deer.
My, how lucky you were to see this and get such wonderful photos! They are so beautiful!
