Morning Marauder

This mommy deer showed up this morning.  There wasn't a fawn in tow nor anywhere nearby. Perhaps her baby didn't make it through those first months of life.

She looks rather skinny and she had a gash on her back too.   No doubt she's seen some strife.

So I tossed her a chopped up apple.  After all, most of the geraniums and begonias are gone so there's not much left for her to eat.

P.S.  We got a little rain last night or should I say we got 'damp' last night as it wasn't a significant rainfall at all.
