This is a Song Sparrow. In April it's a welcome sound hear as it signals it's return. It isn't singing much these days. Instead, it's bulking up for the flight south. I took this photo yesterday while having afternoon tea in the Gazebo.
There is a family of Robins that haven't left yet. They aren't singing though, just looking for something to eat under the leaves on the laneway and scolding each other as they vie for a juicy worm.
The trees are slowly turning but overall, there isn't much colour this year.
Many of the trees just turned brown during the drought in the summer.
Oh that first shot is sooooo beautiful...
