Freeze up

So far it seems like we're getting a normal winter.  We're getting snow plus it's turned cold outside.  Amazing!

As a matter of fact some days and nights are so cold that little lakes and streams are freezing over.

I wouldn't be surprised if the snowmobile trails open early this year. The ski hills are already open.

These Mallards are still hanging around.  They probably won't leave until our bay is frozen over. Meanwhile, they plod up the hill from the lake through the snow to feed on fallen seed from the bird feeders.

I'll try to get a photo of them mountain climbing. It's really funny to see 10 little heads appear as they plod up the steep embankment. The tracks they leave are equally as funny too.
