It was -20 Celsius this morning and the remaining open part of the lake was freezing .....

.....before our very eyes!

Out the window I spotted Mourning Doves taking a nap in the snow filled branches.

Then I spotted this bird, and American Song Sparrow.  I've never seen this bird around here before during the winter months.

The deep freeze is supposed to end today and we're in for a January thaw.
