Mystery tracks

The good thing about snow on the ground is that it reveals who has passed by.

This morning I spotted this unusual trail that went from the feeder and across to the neighbours yard.

The path was about 6" wide and about 3" deep.  About the size of an Otter or a Weasel. The footprints inside the indentation were small much like a squirrel.

The animal dragged itself. So I'm thinking more Otter than Weasel because the latter can bound.

This is a shot of the long trail it made. It looks raised, like an animal tunneled through the snow but the darker section is really the interior shadow.

Better put out the Stealth Cam tonight. Maybe it will come back and we can get a positive identification.
