Hiking

A sunny and cold day is a perfect time to go for a hike on a trail.

So we went to Hardy Lake for a hike.

It was quiet and still in on the trail.  But really cold. Actually, frigid would be a better word.  However it's easier to warm up than cool down.

So we walked fast and kept a good pace to stay warm,  passing rocky outcroppings that are billions of years old......

....and passing a fallen tree that looked more like an Orca lunging out of the water than a trunk.

Thar she blows. Hardy Lake. Frozen over.

No matter the lake, on just about every point of land there is a lone pine reaching out and leaning over the water.

  1. Oh, gosh! This makes me long to be up there. Beautiful pics. Cross country skiing on such trails is heaven to me; totally love it.
