Enough already.

Okay, so I'm done with winter. It's time to move on to a new season. Winter for me is now boring; snow, cold, ice, wind and then more snow, cold, ice and wind.

Last year winter didn't want to arrive.  This year winter doesn't want leave.  Look at the snow we're supposed to get this week.

Last year the lake barely froze over. This year it's thick and solid. I could shovel the snow off the rink and start using it again. But I'm done with winter and the blower has been put away.

There are pressure cracks along the shoreline. This one is right under the skeg freeing from the ice. Yay!

The only interesting thing about snow right now is to guess who made the footprints. I think this was from a weasel of sorts. Probably an Ermine.

There's no need to guess who makes these big footprints.  Lucy is sniffing prints made by the Coyote/Wolf that got filled in by last nights snowfall.

This time last year I think it was around 30 oC and the lake had just about completely melted too. Funny how the weather can be so different from year to year. I just hope spring doesn't get cancelled and it keeps snowing through April!

  1. Winter is slowly being left behind here. We still have some really chilly days, but robins are back. Daffodils and hyacinths are up...surely spring is on its way!
