High Water

This is the small lock in Port Carling.  The water level appears to be at the same level on both sides of the lock.

Business on the waters edge are flooded.

(I remember when I was a teen this was Frankie's Surf Club.)

I couldn't see very well inside the building but it looked like items were floating around.

Here is the north falls in Bala. The water is flowing through fast and furious but it doesn't seem to be making much of a difference on the lake.

Water is racing through on the south falls as well. It's really loud too.

I can't think of another location where the water from Lake Muskoka drains, so this must be it.
No wonder the lake water level is so high. And I wonder what the impact will be under similar circumstances when the power dam gets built here.

  1. We had flooding in our area a couple weeks ago....I think the Wabash river was supposed to get the highest it had been since 1936.
