"Do they eat ducklings?" he inquired knowing our duckling population is dwindling.
Well, I looked up the diet of Blue Herons and it turns out they will indeed small birds, even chipmunks, mice, moles, voles as well as crayfish and frogs.
The other day I heard a frog croaking just about where the Blue Heron was standing, so hopefully, that's what was in it's mouth. So if we don't hear the frog again, we'll know for sure that's what the heron was eating.
Meanwhile, all of our ducklings are present and accounted for.

Guess it time to retire the Nikon Coolpix and go back to using the Canon: a.k.a." The Butt Cam" (because I keep it in my back pocket.)
