...more snow pics

At the request of our children here are more snow pictures.....

Last night we got a ton more snow, maybe 20cm judging by the railings.

The whale weather vane is now officially buried. So is the satellite dish .... it's really buried. We'll need to hire someone to climb up and sweep it clear. Dad has this idea he'll climb up a ladder with his leaf blower to do the job but I think that just an accident waiting to happen.

The fence birdhouse bakers-like hat now looks like it holds dreadlocks.

After shoveling off the Treehouse deck for oh, I don't know, maybe the 5th time this week, Lucy and I headed down to the boathouse.

I needed hip waders to get down there!   I had shoveled it off earlier in the week, but there was at least 50cm (1 1/2') of new snow.

The neighbours boathouse sun deck is completely full.  There was only a scant amount of snow on their deck last weekend.

And for our neighbour on the other side ... the lake is frozen and there's no ice around your dock.
But your new deck is buried and the snow on top of your BBQ is higher than the window behind it!

The lake has frozen over so quickly and judging by tracks, it's thick enough to support the weight of deer.

The lake is still open beyond our bay though but not for much longer. It'll be an early freeze up this year.

The wind last night made interesting swirls on the ice.

If temperatures stay as they are now, we can probably make an ice rink on the lake in time for Christmas.  So bring up your skates!

It sure is beautiful looking down the bay.  The trees on the point look like they've been dusted with icing sugar.
Oh and speaking of icing sugar, all the Christmas baking PetBoy and I did last weekend has disappeared. Ooops.

Finally there is blue sky.  We were hoping to go for a drive later and take some photos. The roads aren't very good though so we'll have to wait until the plows have finished.

The woods are covered with a pure white blanket. Perhaps I should strap on my snow shoes and go for a walk.
