Buried in snow.

We spent the afternoon clearing away snow and I posted photos of our efforts in the previous blog post. However it was falling... heavily... and knew we'd have to get back at the task in the morning.

Just before dinner, we ran out of wood so we headed up to the wood pile.  We were surprised at how much snow had fallen over the past 3 hours.  Check out the deep tire tracks from the wood wagon.

The trees are so heavily covered in snow, it's difficult to see the lights.

The snow is so deep, some of the branches that have lights are completely buried.

I'm not sure what setting I should use at night on my camera; 'night landscape' or 'night portrait' that picks up the snow falling.

Sure is pretty out though.

So here we are buried in snow as viewed by the 'night landscape' setting.

The 'night portrait' setting, on the other hand, captures the falling snow.

Because the snow came so early, I never got the chance to fill the window boxes with evergreen boughs. If I had decorated the fence posts with pine swags and ribbon, they would be buried by now.
At least the lights on the trees are somewhat visible.

Yet despite being buried in snow, it sure is pretty outside.

  1. Such gorgeous photos, although I am sure it's freezing there. I think I need to come for a visit!
