Wasting time.

David say's wasting time is his greatest luxury.

Here are samples of what he means by wasting time.........

First up, an American Goldfinch.  It's bright yellow colour has faded for the winter.

Next is a Blue Jay.
There are easily 20 Jays hanging around here.

This is a Mourning Dove.
At one point during the summer, all the Doves had vanished for over a month.  They have come back and we've counted 15, however there are probably more.

Who doesn't love Chickadees?
Like the Doves, the Chickadee population disappeared for over a month during the summer. Maybe a hawk was the reason they vanished?  At any rate, these sweet little birds are back in good numbers.

Lastly is a Chipmunk.
Most of the Chipmunk population has hibernated for the winter.  There are a few that are braving the cold and snow while they seek out more nuts and seeds.

When it comes to bird and wildlife around here, it's easy to waste a whole day watching them.  Truly a great luxury!
