When we go to there, often we find or see something interesting.
Once we found a copper pot that looked perfect on our pot rack in our city home in the ReUse Shed.
Another time, a vintage book on fishing.
We've often found children's toys, such a musical ride-on train and a kitchen set.
On one occasion, someone left a collection of record albums. I picked up an Iron Butterfly album but took a pass on an album by Xavier Cougat that I'm now kicking myself I didn't get.
Today, at the dump, we saw Bald Eagles. I have seen them there before but didn't have a camera. I got a few shots of them but alas, my camera isn't exactly good at getting photos from distant objects.
Here is one sitting high in a tree. The tree was easily two football fields away, so you can see how bird this bird is.
This one is sitting on the ground among a number of Ravens. They all seem to tolerate each other.
I tried zooming in, but it just gets more blurry. Yet, there's no mistaking it's a baldy for sure.
Next time around perhaps David will bring along his zoom lens and get good photos.
Even though it's a grey, snowy day, it sure is pretty at the dump.
A postcard from the town dump.
I keep saying that snow makes anything beautiful...these prove it. And if I had a chance of seeing eagles at the dump, I would probably go more than once a week!
