Since we're out of milk and parchment paper we ventured off through the fog and slushy roads to town.
First sight we saw was a rafter of turkey's crossing the road.
By the donkey feed store there are 2 horses watching the passersby. Lucy wasn't too sure about them as she's never seen a horse before and let us know she was concerned....right in my ear!
Everything is melting during this January thaw. The roads are deep with slush and icicles are dripping like the one's here at the Presbyterian Church in town.
There is a thick fog in the woods and out on the lake. This is Greavette Island.
Power is out in pockets throughout the area. This fallen sign must be the reason power is out here.
On our way home, again there was another rafter of turkey's but probably not the same ones we saw earlier.
See how exciting it is to go to town for milk and parchment paper?
Would you believe a big part of our snow is gone...has been in the 40's the past two days and had some rain.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a slushy mess where you are...love seeing all those turkeys.
Is that what you call a flock of turkeys? A rafter? See, I didn't know that.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that parchment paper is on your list of emergency supplies, along with milk. But hey, I'm a fan of the stuff, too. Use it for everything from cookies to baked squash.
wow, you really do live in an amazing part of the world! all that snow is so beautiful!
