Indoor Bird Watching

It was -37 oC this morning. With the wind chill it was -45 oC.

Outdoors, it was a beautiful day.
The sky was perfectly blue and the sun was shining.
But it was outrageously cold.

So we decided to stay indoors and do 'indoor' things.
David got his camera and took some photos of the birds through the window.

Here are just two of the photos.

This bird is a Red Breasted Nuthatch.  We don't see them too often around here.  No doubt the Blue Jays scare them away.

This bird is a male Hairy Woodpecker.  They are regulars around here enjoying the suet feeders.

So that was our day.
Keeping the fireplaces going and indoor bird watching.
Life doesn't get any better than this.

  1. Really nice captures of the birds.

I don't see how you stand those temps! I wouldn't want to even step outside!

  2. Wonderful pics! You certainly are lucky to see so much wildlife right at your doorstep. I'd be staying inside too, with those temps.
