Hard landing

Yesterday, about eight Canada Geese came back to our bay.   They had to make a hard landing on the ice.

This morning they were honking madly probably annoyed at the thick ice. 

There isn't any open ground for them to graze on so it's a mystery to us what they will find to eat. Everything is still buried under deep snow.

The trees are still frozen solid and even though it's been mild and sunny for the past few days sap is barely flowing.
