Ralph & Muriel

There was a pleasant surprise out the bedroom window this morning.  Ralph & Muriel are back!


I wonder where they overwintered?



I'll bet they are exhausted from flying looking for open water. There's plenty of fallen seed on the ground for them to nibble on leftover from feeding the Blue Jays all winter long.

However there isn't much open water. There are only 3 boathouse bubblers going in our bay and they haven't created much of a 'hole' because of the thick ice.
