The rush of water filled the creek bed flowing both through and over the culvert that's under the road.
The road became unstable as most of material used to hold up the road was washed away and into the lake on the other side of the road.
The Police showed up and put out crime scene tape to warn motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to stay away.
The Township road dudes showed up right away with barricades
They assessed the damage and dropped a load of asphalt and brought in a digger.
Here is another beaver dam just down the road.
It's been there for over a year and it holds back a great deal of water. Beavers are notorious for building strong, impenetrable dams.
So one has to wonder how the dam that washed away the road, was compromised?
The beaver that built the above dam lives in this lodge.
It's a picture postcard lodge.
I wonder if something happened to the beaver that 'ran' the dam that let go....
