Muskoka Quilt Show

I went with a neighbour to the local guild's Quilt Show. Neither of us are quilters but that didn't stop us from admiring the creativity, the artful hand stitching and workmanship of the quilts on display.

Aside from a huge display of quilts and wall hangings made by local guild member's, there was a "bed turning".
On a bed there were 10 or so antique quilts, all with history. Two guild members held up corners of each quilt while another told it's story. It was fascinating.  Some of the quilts were nearly a hundred years old and some were found in a trunk hidden in an shed for decades.

Here are just a few of the quilts and wall hangings that were on display at the Quilt Show. Enjoy!

  1. Oh, wow! Some really beautiful quilts there! I am a quilter, but cannot imagine the work in some of these. Wish I could have seen them in person.
