When I looked out the kitchen window this morning I saw a Chipmunk of the fence railing, a Hummingbird flitting at the feeder and deer.
It's not a good photo, I know, because I'm shooting through glass and not holding the camera steady in my excitement of seeing a deer.
We haven't seen deer at all this spring. Between predators and poachers our local herd has been greatly thinned out.
If you look carefully, you'll see all three creatures.
I suspect this is last's years fawn from Stompy. This little doe doesn't have a white chin patch and neither does Stompy. When I tossed a chopped up apple onto the driveway, she wouldn't leave the septic bed which is how she behaved last year for fear of having her mom 'stomp' on her back.
I picked up the driveway apple and tossed it to her. She was really skittish and even became wary when Chipmunks passed by.
She hung around for about 15 minutes munching on plants and then left quietly into the woods.
The deer looks so skinny! Hopefully she will become more used to you with time....and yes, I looked carefully and saw all three in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteI get so excited I shake with excitement, too.
