It snowed overnight.
There was about 10cm accumulation.
It's supposed to snow on and off for the remainder of the day and through the remainder of the week too.
Early this morning in the woods, I noticed 3 deer.
Yesterday I saw a buck, he looked to be a 4 pointer, chasing a doe in between the cottages.
The chase is on so perhaps the females I saw in the woods are taking a break from running.
Just before sunrise, I got these photos using my "butt cam" (because it sits in my back jeans pocket).
There are a pair of eyes in the middle of the photo.
Even though the flash went off, it's still difficult to see into the woods but there are two more pairs of eyes looking back in this grainy photo. A deer in the middle and another on the left.
I switched to my other camera, the broken one, and got this out-of-focus photo.
This deer has a distinctive chin patch. She was skittish so I know it wasn't Sweetie. Maybe it's a relative of hers?
At any rate, she's a beautiful looking doe and hopefully the hanky panky that was going on yesterday paid off, so to speak, as our deer population has diminished greatly over the past year.
The best thing about snow on the ground is seeing animal tracks.
I noticed fresh Fox tracks on the road while I was taking photos of the deer.
However neither of my cameras are working very well to get a good photo.
The first real snowfall always makes everything look so magical and pretty.
However next March the snow will no longer be a welcome sight!
