Flood watch

A flood warning has been issued for Bracebridge. (click here)
Coincidentally, we were in Bracebridge when the decree was made and sure enough, the water was really flowing fast and the river rising quickly.

We sat in the parking lot below the falls and had a picnic lunch.
The roar of the water was deafening.

As we sat eating, David pondered if there was someone who regularly checked the strength of the dam. He wondered if  the force of the water would make it give way.

I said "You mean like in the movie Salmon Fishing In Yemen? Whereby the water went up and over the dam?"

He said "Exactly like that."

Pondering these thoughts, we hastily finished our lunch and set off for higher ground.
