Midnight Marauders

I woke up around 4:30am to the sound of clomping. Hoofs on wood, I thought.
Sure enough there was a deer exiting from the moat where she had been eating potato ivy from the window boxes.
The Stealth Cam caught her image.
(not sure why the date and time is wrong, but the temperature is correct.)
There were actually 3 three that I saw wandering around the property and most likely there were more. I just didn't see them in the dark.
Anyway, one ate my pretty begonia.  In the past, I found deer don't particularly like begonias. Apparently that is no longer the case.

There were deer down on the dock eating my geraniums.

The above flower pot used to look full and lush like this one.

Also at 4:30 am I heard a dog down the bay barking like crazy.  If the deer were up our way, then the bear must have been down that way.

  1. I wonder if there is anything that will keep the deer from eating. Even though I would love the deer...I would hate my flowers being eaten.
