For food there are plenty of unattended evergreens from decorative landscaping around cottages, plus a few bird feeders with spilled seed on the ground.
There are 5 or 6 deer whom we refer to as regulars. Occasionally more will wonder by and once last month we counted 14.
Today there were 24 in the woods.
What a good sign that our local herd has avoided poachers, wolves, coyotes, vehicles and disease.
I recognized a couple of them as handsome antlered bucks that were around in November. These bucks are probably the fathers to many of the deer in these photos.
I wish they could tell me where they dropped their antlers.
Some of them were skittish when we went walking with cameras in hand. Others were curious.
Their faces are all so different.
They are all such beautiful creatures.
I just wish the Moose would show up.
