Post storm.

When the sun came up this morning we could see what last nights storm left behind.

Maybe 15cm fell and because it was so windy there were mounds of snow with some of it looking sculptured.

Trees were full of snow and the lake looked like it had a perfect pristine blanket on top.

If you happen to be our next door neighbour, your dock is also completely covered in snow.  Your new deck is filling up too so there'll be lots of shoveling to do when you come up next week.

Early this morning someone left tracks behind on our dock.  Maybe a weasel?

It was such a perfectly beautiful winter day we decided to go out for lunch.

With our neighbours we went to The Rosseau Resort.

What a fabulous view of Lake Rosseau and islands. It's so quiet and just waiting for our friend Monk, you know, Our National Treasure,  to come up and check on his cottage which is a little to the left of this photo.

The outdoor pool was open.

And there were dog sled rides.

The two lead dogs looked like they were watching intently, waiting for their orders.

Lunch was delicious, the company most pleasant,  and I can't think of a better way to spend a sunny winter afternoon in Muskoka.

  1. I don't know why, but your part of the country...all things in what I call the North, really interests me. As bad as I hate being cold, I would love to spend one winter north of the continental US..well, or Alaska.
