Training

For our afternoon tea break we had some entertainment.
Seven police boats arrived at the end of the bay just off the Point.
We see them every year doing their exercises for the upcoming boating season.

I could hear one person speaking to the others through a loud speaker but couldn't make out what he was saying.

Then they all lined up like a school of fish.

They are O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) and they come from all over the province to train and practice their boating skills on our lake.

They are given scenarios to act upon.
One year, they came in our bay looking for a cottage address by water.

Anyway, the police boats made for good tea-time entertainment.

Please note the freshly painted boathouse railing.

  2. Nice looking rail! Exciting to watch the police boats and to realize that boating season is beginning for our short but packed with activity warm weather. Finally! and nobody embraces warm weather the way us northerners do. It's been chilly here for a couple days now with frost at night, then again that hot weather spoiled us since our past frost date is end of May. But, the water is blue, the grass is green and all is well (and safe thanks to your police!). Enjoy and keep posting. I love your posts, looking forward to seeing the kiddos as they join you for summer adventures. My grandkids are preschool age and enjoying our paddle boat on the pond with is, they sure do add to the fun of being retired. Off to sew them some new O+S bucket hats.
